Using the OTP as use case

OTP view

I think it’s worth it describing the details about what a featured Component is using an example. You should read this article Atomic Design Architecture to have a complete understanding.

When trying to transfer money, we need to confirm the identity of the client, by asking for code that is has been set and stored on the backend for security reason. Only once the code is matched, the client can then move forward to initiate the transfer by choosing/adding a beneficiary. That’s why we use the One-Time-Password, the OTP.

1. OTP Screen

In the frontend, we need to display an OTP view on a screen.

2. OTP Featured View

An OTP view is a featured component. It is composed of title, 6 cases input, error message if any, and a link if code forgotten. This is called Feature View. It has behaviour/interaction with the domain logic or backend. For example, it ensure to interact with the domain logic to compare the code with the one retrieved from the backend. The idea here is to inject that logic to the view. In fine, the view is doing the articulation like in the MVC pattern.

3. OTP Featured Object
